Chic Decorating for the Holidays
When decorating your home is so much fun throughout the year, why not try something a little different for when the holidays roll around? Red and green are out, replaced by silver and gold, with lots of sparkle and shine! At Source Interior Designs, we are just now gearing up for our big holiday rush in New Orleans by bringing together some of our most fabulous items for gifts and decor.

Tradtionally, gold and silver are used as holiday colors, along with the more colloquial red and green. I absolutely detest that Thanksgiving is skipped over in terms of decorating, as "Fall" colors compliment each other so beautifully, but for the sake of this post, we are headed straight into Christmas or "Holiday" territory! We are featuring in this window some pieces that we always carry at Source Interior Designs, including the hand-blown glass knots, Niven Morgan products, and our jewelry lines. For this installation, we wanted to incorporate a sense of holiday with the gold and white, but yet offer gift ideas to each customer strolling by.
This is also a trend that I am just mad about, in design and in clothing. White is for all year 'round! In our windows this season, we have incorporated a TON of white to go with all the silver and gold in order to tone it down a little. White lends a sense of neutrality to any shade or finish- it is often overlooked, but can make a design that much better.
I wanted to finish with this look because I thought it set the tone for the whole holiday season. With this, I would switch around some of the branches with some evergreen and keep the tablescape up until the New Year. It goes to show that metallics can be incorporated in any design or decor, while mixing up a few of the accents can really re-invent the look and keep it fresh for all of your holiday get-togethers.
I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving as much as they did decorating for it!
Until next time,
Evie Clinton
